João Pessoa
All of Brazil, within reach.
João Pessoa's municipal flag has a black vertical band at the hoist bearing three silver, crown-topped fortress towers representing the city's three historical names (Filipeia, Frederica, and Parahyba), beside a field of seven horizontal stripes — four white and three red — that honor conquest-era heroes Duarte da Silveira and Martim Leitão; red and black together commemorate the Liberal Alliance and the mourning for state president João Pessoa Cavalcanti de Albuquerque's 1930 assassination.

About João Pessoa
João Pessoa, capital of Paraíba, pairs a 16th-century historic center — one of Brazil's oldest, founded in 1585 — with 20 km of urban beachfront and the Ponta do Seixas headland, officially recognized by the Brazilian Navy as the easternmost point of Brazil and the Americas. For trade partners, the appeal is a low-friction, high-photogenic stopover: walkable Tambaú and Cabo Branco beaches with hotel infrastructure directly on the sand, an Oscar Niemeyer cultural landmark, a preserved colonial quarter, and a UNESCO Creative City (Crafts and Folk Art) designation that supports artisan-market add-ons. Its coastal position between Recife and Natal makes it a natural link stop on multi-city Nordeste itineraries rather than a standalone long-haul destination.
