About Pipa
Pipa is Rio Grande do Norte's best-known coastal village, a stretch of roughly eleven cliff-backed beaches in the municipality of Tibau do Sul, about 85 km south of Natal. Red sandstone cliffs frame the coastline, dolphins are a near-daily sight at Baía dos Golfinhos, and a private Atlantic Forest reserve borders the village on its northern edge. What sets Pipa apart from most Nordeste beach towns is its restaurant scene: a compact village square with French, Italian, Japanese, Arab and Brazilian kitchens side by side, anchored each April by the Sabores da Pipa food festival. Praia de Pipa was elevated to Category A — the top tier — on Brazil's Ministry of Tourism destination-performance map in 2018. For DMC partners it pairs naturally with Natal on a short Nordeste itinerary, or stands alone as a base for eco-tourism, honeymoon and FIT programs; its village-scale pousada base makes it a poor fit for large-group MICE.
